Who We Are and Why We Started...

A bit more about Bruce...

Paula & Bruce McLean
My beautiful wife and I on the Amazon River

Hola,

My name is Bruce McLean and I’m a Kiwi living right here in the heart of the Colombian Coffee Zone. I’m also the very proud founder of BnB Colombia Tours.

Having experienced love at 1st sight with Colombia (and a girl) in 2009, I now live in a traditional coffee town with a population of 12,000 people called Viterbo. Here it’s not uncommon to see 1/2 a street taken up with coffee beans drying in the sun. Or a horse and cart being used to make deliveries. This is one of those towns where a Willys jeep is used for public transportation, and every day you can see children in their school uniforms packing inside, on the back, on the sides, and on top of a Willys making their way to and from school. It’s a pueblo (small town) where a local artist carves massive sculptures out of dying trees that line the “Tunnel of Samanes;” the entrance to this wonderful town. It’s from my pueblo that I have been able to build an amazing team of both local and international experts on Colombia to create BnB Colombia Tours!

I’ve also been lucky enough to have traveled through much of Colombia myself and have enjoyed some wonderful experiences and met some fantastico people along the way. It’s these experiences and many more that I’d like to share with you.

Why I started BnB Colombia Tours…

  • When I first arrived here, I found it quite difficult to find English-speaking guides, so it was down to the people I was traveling with to translate for me as we went along. If you’ve ever been in this situation, you’ll know that it can become quite tiring and a bit annoying for everyone involved.
  • I also found that every time I was anywhere experiencing something new and traveling to a different location, I wanted to get on a video call and share it with friends and family back home. This feeling has never left me.
  • Colombia has so much to see and experience, you just won’t believe it. There are 32 departments in Colombia. And in each one, you can find different music, food, clothing, architecture, and experiences. It’s somewhere you could spend years traveling through and still discover something new.

Now I have bilingual local expert guides providing diverse tours combining wonderful cultural and nature experiences, in almost every part of Colombia. All of which can be customized to create the perfect package just for you.

We’ve got the tours, the guides, the transportation, the accommodation, the expert local knowledge, and the complete logistics ready to provide you with your dream Colombian experience!

If you’d like to know any more about me or BnB Colombia Tours please feel free to book a chat .

Have a Fantastico Day and Hablamos Pronto!

Bruce
