Day 2  Comuna 13 and City Tour

Comuna 13 was once one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Colombia, but now it is covered with amazing murals and graffiti; it also now receives thousands of tourists every year. On this tour you’ll also enjoy a cable car ride, fruit tasting and get to ride the outside escalators, which helped transform this neighborhood into what it is today.

Next you’ll continue onto a magnificent Medellín City Tour starting in the Plaza Botero, and including a tram ride. The complete journey you will take today will be guided with our local expert who will explain every part of the good, bad and the sometimes-ugly history of this fantastic city

Meals included: Breakfast

Day 3  Guatape and Coffee Tour

You’ll be driven through some of the most beautiful scenery to a coffee farm for a visit and full explanation of the complete process from seed to cup. You’ll enjoy tasting some of Colombia’s precious black gold before continuing on to the replica town of Old Peñol; this town was actually flooded and is at the bottom of Lake Guatape now. The only part of this town that is still visible is the church spiral that sticks out above the water marking the spot for everyone to see (you can visit this spot later in the day).

Next, it’s onto Guatape Rock; once here you will have the opportunity to climb the 740 steps to the very top with absolutely breathtaking views every step of the way. At the top you’ll have time to catch your breath and relax before leisurely taking the 740 steps back down again.

On return to the ground, you will be collected and driven to the nearby Guatape Town, where you’ll enjoy a walking tour of the cobblestone streets lined with colorful buildings.

Next you have a choice of making your way back to Medellín or first enjoying a boat cruise on lake Guatape itself (optional extra). Here you can spend around an hour cruising and (if you choose) stopping at one of Pablo Escobar’s fincas; called La Manueal after his daughter.

Here you will discover buildings dating back to the colonial times, an absolutely delightful plaza (main square) and learn the history of the church that was never completed.
