What’s happening in Colombia in relation to Covid-19?

It’s no secret that COVID-19  devastated the economy of Colombia along and the hardest sector hit by the Coronavirus is the tourism and hospitality sector. Many hotels, restaurants, and tour agencies have changed hands.

I am happy to say that here at BnB Colombia Tours we have been able to weather this storm and can see the light at the end of the tunnel, with vaccinated tourists returning to this amazing country once again. Read on to see our personal travel advice…

 

As of today (30th of November, 2021) in Colombia:

  • Borders are open and travelers may enter from land and by air.
  • No covid test is required to enter Colombia.
  • No quarantine is required when entering Colombia
  • 1 – 24 hours before arrival/departure into/from Colombia a Check-Mig form must be submitted.
  • Facemasks are required to be worn in all public areas and public transportation.
  • Restaurants and bars in most of Colombia are open with social distancing regulations and health measures in place.
  • Biosecurity protocols are in place in public places and businesses. Such as hotels, restaurants, bars, cafes, banks, markets, beaches, national parks, taxis, buses, airports, schools, universities. These protocols include the use of face masks, washing hands, and social distancing.
  • Mobility restrictions are in place within a few destinations of Colombia. For example, Cartagena maintains a curfew between the hours of 2am and 5am.
  • Current infection rate of COVID-19 is at 8% of the peak registered on June 27th. 
  • 5,067,348 infections in total, 4,907,484 recovered and 128,473 coronavirus-related deaths.
  • 56.1% fully vaccinated (approximately), everyone over the age of 03 eligible to receive the vaccine.

Our advice for travelers planning on visiting the beautiful country of Colombia is to book and travel at any time you are available. Due to the ongoing vaccine programs in Colombia and other countries, the worst is truly behind us and travelers will not have any travel restrictions going forward.

Whereby once an itinerary and pricing have been agreed upon a 25% deposit is required, and the remaining 75% is not due to be paid until 15 days before the tour start date.
