Want to checkout one of the most spectacular waterfalls and swimming spot in Colombia, along with the most beautiful town you may ever see?
This is the tour for you!
You’ll start your day with a 7am pickup from your Bucaramanga accommodation and relax taking photos for the 3-hour drive through the Chicamocha Canyon to the scenic location of the Juan Curí Waterfalls.
As soon as you arrive you’ll be able to see the top waterfall from the car park, and it won’t disappoint. With a combined height of 820 ft (250 m) these waterfalls are both impressive and peaceful at the same time.
You’ll enjoy the 25-minute trek via the tropical rainforest to get to the lower waterfalls and a swimming spot where you can simply relax and enjoy this idyllic scene.
But if you, like many people who have traveled here before, would like to get to the top there are a series of ropes and ladders to help you on your way to find the perfect photo. If climbing up waterfalls is not your kind of thing there is also a short hiking trail, which can lead you to the same spot.
The top waterfall is 230 ft (70 m) in total, and as an optional activity you can rappel down a 165 ft (50 m) section for COP $50,000, approx $17.00
Once you’ve soaked up this amazing landscape and committed every part of this tremendous morning to memory you will head off to the wonderful town of Barichara.
After spending only a few moments in Barichara you’ll completely understand why it is called the most beautiful town in Colombia and quite possibly the world. You will fall in love with the colonial architecture, cobbled roads and artisan workshops. You’ll cherish the spectacular views of the Suarez Canyon and relish the experience of making by hand your very own paper. You’ll savor your lunch and also have an opportunity to take a 2-hour hike to Guane, another even smaller Colonial town, which you can access by taking the Camino Real trail.
As the sun is going down you will start making your back home in our comfortable vehicle with a camera full of memories and feeling of absolute delight. We’ll be expecting to be dropping you off at your Bucaramanga accommodation between 8pm and 9pm depending on traffic.
