Located in the center of Bogotá is the historic zone: La Candelaria. Here you will find houses and streets, built from stones more than 400 years ago. Other places not to miss while in Bogota:

  • Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá – about an hour drive out of Bogotá you’ll find this Roman Catholic Church built 200m underground in an old salt mine.
  • Villa de Leyva – about 3 hours from Bogotá is a beautiful colonial town where every street, wall, house, gate, and door takes you back to the time of the Spaniards. (Tip, have a lot of space for photos and stay a night or two in one of the beautiful hotels or many hostels.)
