The city of Cali is home to two nationally significant golf courses, which are not only sports venues but also hubs for social and recreational activities. Cali Country Club is one of the favorite clubs among the golfing fraternity of Colombia for several reasons.

There is a twenty-room hotel, surrounded by a forest reserve and a splendid golf course.  With luxury villas set amidst the fabulous biodiversity of the Colombian Western Mountain Range, this is the ideal place for nature-loving golfers.

The Cali Country Club course is the only one in Colombia with Bermuda Tif eagle-type grass for the greens, making it a perfect setting for major national and international events.  The Latin American PGA Tour, The Donovan Cup, the Bolivarian Games and The National Games have all been played here. The Club has also hosted the Colombian Open three times.

Club Campestre de Cali

Club Campestre de Cali/Cali Country Club’s golf course is considered one of the best in South America, as it has been upgraded to comply with USGA regulations.

Club Campestre de Cali’s golf course unfolds as a 6,946-yard, par-71 tapestry of Bermuda Tif Eagle greens and strategic challenges. Designed by Howard Watson in the 1950s, the course is a classic parkland layout, offering wide fairways lined with mature trees and strategically placed bunkers. But do not be fooled by its initial ease. Subtle undulations and well-guarded greens demand focus and precise shot execution.

The course is a classic yet strategic design. The holes are very varied and challenging, arranged in a good and demanding sequence.
The most ambitious are the  5th., 7th., 9th.  and 18th..  This in turn creates many opportunities and allows players of different levels of ability to fully enjoy the game to its fullest extent.

Two holes stand out as true tests of skill:

  • Hole 3, La Quebrada, par 4 doglegs left featuring a deep ravine flanking the fairway and a small, well-protected green, making even seasoned players sweat.
  • Hole 8, El Lago, is a picturesque par 3, with a shimmering lake guarding the front of the green, demanding a perfect shot to avoid watery consequences.

The entire course is planted in 419 Bermuda grass and its fairways are an average of 25 yards wide. The roughs are planted in thick groups and there are a wide variety of trees, mostly native to the area, where you can see a large number of birds, as well as squirrels, iguanas and others in perfect harmony with nature.

  • Hole 11, La Catedral: this legendary par 6 unfolds like a game of chess, with bunkers guarding every landing zone and a green perched 500 meters away – a test of both power and precision.

But Farallones is not just about extremes. Cali’s warm climate ensures comfortable year-round golfing, while the lush greenery and breathtaking views offer a visual feast for every swing.

So prepare to breathe in the fresh mountain air and conquer the slopes of Colombian golfing majesty! The features here are an 18-hole, par 73 golf course that is remarkable for its diverse surrounding wildlife and flora.
