What’s the weather and climate like in the Eastern plains of Colombia?

Located at an elevation of 172 meters/564 feet above sea level, Casanare is a department in the central-eastern region of Colombia that has a tropical wet and dry or savanna climate. The average yearly temperature is 76f/24c, which is 2% lower than Colombia’s average. Casanare typically receives about 560 mils. (22 inches) of precipitation and has 308 rainy days (84%) annually. Its capital is Yopal and contains oil fields and an 800 km pipeline running to the coastal port of Coveñas.

In Yopal the summers, January to April, are short, hot, humid, and very overcast, while the winters, June to September, are short, warm, muggy, wet, and cloudy.
