Playa Cristal: More than you could ever imagine.

The amazing crystal-white sands and transparent water at this beautiful beach, are the first things that capture your attention once you get there. And yes, snorkeling and diving are, obviously, the most commonly recommended activities because the water is really calm and it’s really easy to spot thousands of fish that will astonish you with their unusual colors and unique beauty.

But apart from this, if you walk a little through the surroundings of Playa Cristal, you can easily get to enjoy the beautiful view from “El Mirador de Playa Cristal” right before enjoying a sample of local cuisine at any of the local restaurants that can be found in there. You can also visit the ancestral “Pueblo Taganguero” and get to learn something about the Tayrona Indigenous Tribe that have inhabited this region for centuries.

Something to consider in favor of Playa Cristal is that it’s very accessible, and easily available in a day tour, as there’s no need to take long or demanding walks since you can get directly to the place by road and by boat. This is what makes it very convenient for family trips because both children, adults, and elders can reach this place very easily, which cannot be done at other attractions inside the Park.

Beautiful Landscapes + Cultural Exchange: This is Cabo San Juan

Cabo San Juan Path

I won’t lie to you: there’s a nearly 90minute hike between you and this magnificent place located in a privileged position inside Tayrona Park… And yes, this hike can be tough for anyone with a below-average physical condition. Sometimes, if you’re lucky enough, you can rent a mule from local peasants and this could feel like a release.

However, if you can tolerate this relatively considerable physical effort, it will be totally compensated by the amazing experiences you can get to embrace while you’re at Cabo San Juan.

If you’re in for a one-day trip, it is highly recommendable to get there as early in the morning as you can, so you get to enjoy the marvels of Cabo San Juan’s turquoise waters and the really fun beach activities you can engage with, plus having a traditional Caribbean lunch prepared by local cooks.

And if you’re there for more than one day, then you can rent a tent to camp next to the beach, and in this camp feel you could easily get to socialize with friendly hitch-hikers and nomads from all around the world, who get together for unforgettable parties where cultural exchange is guaranteed.
